I started my third work experience placement today in Laurels pre-school.I was looking forward to begin my work experience.
I arrived in the pre-school at 09:25 and I started my work experience at 09:30. I was introduced to my two suprivisers and the kids in the pre-school.The workers were very welcoming and I was looking forward to working with them.
I started off the day by doing circle-time with the children and singing songs with them.I then helped one of the children with their art work and played games with the children.I then cleaned up at the end of the day.
I enjoyed my first day of work experience in the pre-school.

Week 8
Today was my last Wednesday in Peamount Healthcare.I started off the day by doing some printing,photocopying and laminating for my supriviser.
After this I had a quick break and I then went to a talk on hand care with my suprivisers and a few of the nurses.I learnt some new things from this talk about hygiene and hand care around the hospital.
I then carried out hand care on two more of the patients.
After lunch,I did more laminating for my supriviser and I finished off the day by going to the sing-along again with the patients.
I really enjoyed my 8 Wednesdays in Peamount healthcare,I really enjoyed working with the patients and the workers around the hospital.I learnt alot from it and would definitely like to work in the area of social care in the future.

Today was my second last week at work experience in Peamount Healthcare.I started off the day by being introduced to some new patients.I was thought how to do hand care correctly and I carried this out with one of the service users in Peamount.
After doing the hand care with one of the patients,I took part in relaxtion time.It was my first time being introduced to this so I observed what the nurses were doing with the patients and I took part in this.
I also went to the sing song after lunch again and kept some of the patients company.
It was a good day because I was introduced to do things(relaxtion time) and new patients.

Week 6
Today,was my 6th week in Peamount Hospital. I went on an outing shopping with one of the patients.I helped her with her bags and when she needed helped I helped her.
When I went back to Peamount and I went to one of the patient's room and I helped her with organising her photo albums.
I then had lunch and finished off the evening at the sing-song talking to the patients.
I enjoyed my day.

Week 5!
Yesterday was my 5th Wednesday in Peamount Healthcare.I started off the day by working with one of the patients where I talked to her for a while and also did her nails for her.
In the afternoon,I worked with another patient where Roisin and I organised her photo albums for her and talked to her for an hour,until lunch time.
After lunch,I went to a sing-along with the patients.
I had a great day and I am really enjoying working with some of the service users in Peamount :)

Week 4
Yesterday was my 4th week in Peamount.I started off my day at 09:30 and I began photocopying and laminating sheets for my supriviser.
I then went to a talk about safety and hygiene around the hospital.I found this talk very interesting and learnt things about hygiene from it.
In the afternoon,I worked with a patient.I filed her nails for her and just talked to her and kept her company for a while.
In the evening I did more photocopying and laminating.It was a good day!

Week 3
Yesterday was my third Wednesday in Peamount Healthcare.I started my day at 9:30 and the first job I did was photocopying and laminating sheets.I then learnt how to do a hand massage by one of the workers,and Lorna,Roisin and I had to practice doing these on each other.We were thaught how to do these incase we ever had to do a hand massage on a patient.
In the afternoon,I worked in the computer room.I had to type up a speech from one of Peamount's patients,it was a story she wrote herself and I really enjoyed listening to it and typing it up.
After lunch,I went to the music evening once again where I stayed beside two of the patients.They love the music and guitar and I am even coming familiar with the old songs now after a few weeks of listening to them!
I am looking forward to going back tomorrow :)

Week 2!
Yesterday was my second Wednesday at work experience in Peamount Healthcare.I did most of the same things as I did last week but I still really enjoyed it.
I started off the morning by meeting new people and I was introduced to my second supriviser.I then met new service users for the first time and I went to Liffey Valley and went shopping with one of Peamounts patients.I had a great time getting to know the patient I was with for the day.
After spending time shopping,we went back to Peamount had our lunch and then had a music evening.I stayed beside one of the service users talking to her and making sure she was ok.
I had a great day and have met lots of lovely new patients and workers in Peamount.I am looking forward to next week.

Work Experience Placement 2-Week 1
After spending a great 10 Wednesdays in a primary school for my first work experience placement,on Wednesday,I began my second work experience in Peamount Healthcare.
I was in Peamount at 9:30 where I was introduced to my 2 suprivisers for the eight Wednesdays I would be working in Peamount.I was brought to St.Kevins along with the two other girls doing work experience in Peamount and we were shown around the place and told about other Peamount Healtcare facilities.
On Wednesday we went to Liffey Valley with a few of the service users in Peamount.We travelled there on a bus where we were shown how to make sure they wheelchairs were properly secured while travelling on the bus.When we arrived I helped wheel the wheelchair around the shopping centre.
We then went back to Peamount where some of the sevice users were having a sing song my job was to stay beside the service users incase they needed anything.
I enjoyed my first day in Peamount and it was nice to meet the workers and service users of Peamount.I am looking forward to next week!
